School Grants may be awarded to students based on different factors: some are purely need-based, a student’s economic background is thoroughly considered. The family’s income, or more specifically that of the parents, is checked to see if they cannot provide the sufficient funding for their child’s education costs. Some organizations’ bases for awarding school grants are established on religious affiliation and sometimes ethnicity. There are special school grants for those belonging to the minority groups. Other grants are based on special interest: business, industrial or professional fields.
Since no remuneration or loan payment is required, the award becomes almost like a reward for the students, and an inspiration for them to pursue their studies with diligence. These student aids provide enough subsidies for tuition fees, miscellaneous fees and other education needs. School grants seek to ensure that studies are continued and the student’s potential is maximized and reached, regardless of their present financial position.
